Funny Stories

So, I just had to post these 2 cute stories from today. This afternoon, Ava and I were playing with her Little People farm. She cracked me up because she was making the chicken fall off the roof while she went, "Aaaaaah! Boom!" Isn't that hilarious?! She is so smart and funny! Later in the evening, we were playing outside. She loves to talk to her reflection. She had picked up these seed things on the back patio and was playing a game with her reflection in the glass doors. She would put the seeds behind her back and say, "All gone." Then she would bring them back out (show them to herself in the reflection) and say, "Tada!" She kept doing that over and over. I just had to share those stories because she is TOO cute!

On a separate note, she hasn't really been herself the past 2 days, but we think she is getting her 2 year molars. It is still unconfirmed, but there are definitely signs that it could be teething. Just when you think you have them figured out, they throw you a curve ball!

New Yard Toys

Thanks to a friend in my mom's group, we finally got some fun outdoor toys for Ava! With a huge hill in the front yard and no fence in the back yard, we've really steered clear of taking Ava outside. I take her to parks fairly often, but many times we have wished for a good deal on a used playhouse. And Michael had interest in getting Ava a sandbox because she will play in the sand at the park for a really long time. So, we were really pleased when my MLP friend decided to sell her playhouse AND sandbox. It was Christmas in July for Ava! She already chose outdoor play over TV today, and that's pretty huge. What a blessing!

Mudcats Game

Tonight we went to a minor league baseball game. We had won free tickets at a local festival, and we invited our friends, Jay, Susan, and Calvin. We were not sure how the kids were going to do, but they did awesome! We walked around some, and they decided to have small tantrums when we took them away from the water fountains. But while trapped in at our seats, they did great! I think we all had a really good time!

Reggy is not the actual mascot, but he was an entertainer. Ava really liked him. In this shot, he was inflating a giant monkey. We could never quite get a picture with him though.

Carmen's Birthday Party

This is Ava with her friend, Carmen. Today we went to Carmen's birthday party at a local gymnastics company. We met Carmen and her mom through my mom's group. We were invited to Carmen's party last year (first birthday party Ava was ever invited to), but we couldn't make it. This party was a lot of fun. Ava had so much fun with her MLP friends and with all the gymnastic equipment.

The Water Fun Continues...

I know I have been posting a lot, but it seems we have been going to really cool places lately. After today, I will probably not have much to post. Plus, I wanted to get this blog going. I put this first picture on here because it's just so cute. I took it yesterday. The other pictures are from a local pool that has a splash ground area. Ava got tired very quickly, and she fell down 3 times, getting lots of scrapes. But I managed to get a few pieces of evidence that she had a good time, at least for a little while.

July 4th Family Pool Party

Every 4th of July, my family on my mom's side has a pool party at my cousin's house. Last year, Ava did really well and had a lot of fun. This year was no different. She was excited when we first got there because "ka-ka" (my cousin Lanaki) was already in the pool. But she cried when daddy took her out in the water. So, at first she stayed right on the steps and had a good time.

We tried putting Ava in a bathing suit with a built in float, but that didn't go over very well. But she fell in love with this float and had a grand ol' time.

She even did her trademark- crossing her ankles (apparently a family trait on my grandfather's side).

She took her grandma's banana popsicle and would not give it back!

She decided she wanted to wear all the leis!

Museum of Life and Science

Yesterday we went to the Museum of Life and Science with our friends Jay, Susan, and Calvin. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and we all had a really good time.

Calvin and Ava playing in part of the indoor section.

In the butterfly house, a butterfly landed on Michael's hat (he thinks they were a Colts fan) and one landed on Susan's hand. She showed it to the kids.

The kids enjoyed making mist for the plants. Having buttons to push is such fun!

This was in the water and wind portion. There were sailboats on water. I think the kids were steering them.

There were many more pictures (despite our camera breaking), but I couldn't post them all. To see a few more, visit my Facebook album.
